Dragon Age: Origins

I'm trying out this game as a continuous exercise for ideas generation, since Dragon Age: Origins receive a lot of rave reviews from various magazines and games portals (you may read a full review of Dragon Age Origins over at www.gamespot.com - my favourite source for game infos).

Upon installing and launching it the first time, I was bemused that the social networking concept is embedded into the player's control panel. From the game, you can actually login and interact with dragonage.bioware.com community to share screenshots, stories, and other stuffs. You can also redeem codes from the portal into the game to get extra content such as new characters, armors and locales - some are free, and some are premium.

Hmm.. on the premium... there's already more than 1,000,000 people playing DragonAge: Origins. A premium locale such as The Warden's Keep is approximately USD15 to purchase. What if only 5% of the players pay for it to have it installed in the main game so that they can explore it, fight new monsters and gain new items, weapons and armors.

That would translate into 50,000 players paying Bioware USD15 for Warden's Keep, totalling a whopping USD750,000 (RM2.47 million) for one item of yet a very new game.

No wonder the games industry is said to be bigger than Hollywood.

Ideas for games with downloadable content, anyone?

New Grants Keep Cropping Up In Malaysia

With so many grants available provided by the good government of Malaysia, I was hardpressed to choose which ones to go for.

I mean, the most basic grants would be from SMIDEC - they offer fundings and reimbursements for new start-ups, office renovation, advertising and promotion, website development. All we need to do is simply fill up their forms, submit, and wait for the cheques!

And there is the Cradle Investment Programme - a whopping RM150,000 for individuals who can come up with a feasible commercial idea, leveraging on ICT and multimedia technologies. Think "ikan air tawar" + "e-content portal" = "increased tourism revenue", and you might as well pocket RM150,000 from Cradle.

Or, similar example of the "ikan air tawar" (clear water fish, for the uninitiated) + "e-content portal" + "mobile devices distribution" = "increased use in 3G technologies", and you can apply from the Malaysia Multimedia and Communications Commission (MCMC) for a whopper catch of RM1,500,000!!!

And not to mention MDeC's RnD Grant (MGS) for MSC status companies with unlimited funding (which Designel Media Sdn Bhd, as an MSC status company, is going to adamantly pursue to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching and learning of Islamic content).

Ah... for individuals they have the MDeC PreSeed fund - RM150,000 + a new MSC Status company for teams who can come up with an idea that (yet again) leverage on ICT and Multimedia technologies to bring the Malaysian economy another notch up.

(Btw, 2 of our Eilham friends got the MDeC PreSeed fund - an animated feature, and a mobile video ringtones development).

In addition, MDeC just launched another grant scheme dubbed "ICON" (Integrated Content Development Programme) for individuals who already has something ready to be commercialized. There's ICONity (for social networking enthusiasts), ICONedu (for e-content owners and e-learning practitioners), ICONex (for online service providers) and ICONapps (an internship programme for students and the unemployed). The grant is up to RM100,000 for each subcategory (excluding ICONapps)!!!

Whoa!

How come people still go to Alongs (or Sharks, if you wanna continue the fishy metaphor)?

And to those who knows about these money our government is giving away, many thought that its for businesses only.

The Malaysian government offers money to SMEs, AND INDIVIDUALS ALSO.

For SMEs (or businesses), you can get a lot of grants under SMIDEC and MATRADE.

For individuals, you can appy for a potentially commericial business idea from Cradle and MDeC (I've gotten 3 Cradle Grants thus far - the 4th has been submitted as an application last Monday). You can get up to RM150,000.00, and no need to pay it back.

Get Funding For Your Ideas - RM50,000 ++

A lot of people have come up to me and threw me their ideas. Great ideas, most of them, and have great market potential. However, many of them, if not all, are stuck when it comes to writing the business proposal.

And although I can write the proposals on behalf, I may never be able to do presentations on the ideas - the owner of the idea must do it him or herself.

As such, I thought it may be a good start to put what I know in simple writing, with clear guidelines and examples, to help you put your business idea into a basic proposal. In doing so, you may have a clearer vision of where your idea(s) can lead to - should you pursue it? Do you have to reconsider certain aspects of your idea? There are a lot of considerations before flying guns-ablaze with your business idea - lest, you'd find yourself in a muck too deep for you to retrace your steps.

I've written a guide to write a business proposal - based on my proposal writing experience since I was a consultant in Meteor way back in 2003, to this day. Recently, my team has managed to secure 2 Cradle Investment Program funding - Bulletpages (RM113,000) and Lagenda Aurellia (RM150,000), with another one Bulletlive (not sure how much yet).

Things Are Cooking Now Because I Decided To Cook Before

On almost a daily basis, my wife always call me sometime mid-morning to know whether I'm having lunch at home. She always nags at me if I suddenly appear through the door at lunch hour with a rumbling stomach (or worse, with a shaking and numbing self - a common occurrence in me when sugar is low in my system), because meals are not instant! Even Magee needs more than 2 minutes, considering the need to boil water before putting the mee into the pot!

I understand my wife's concern. She needs time to prepare the ingredients, take out frozen food from the fridge to thaw it before she can cooks them. Lunch is never instant, no matter how instant we are told it is.

I guess same goes for business - its rewards are never instant. I had to seek businesses out before I can have a business. I have to close deals before I can expect revenues.

And then, I will reap the rewards. As I did before. As usual.

But as usual, people only notice my rewards - seldom they see the hardships behind it. Yeah, I make good money, and I'm proud that I get to spend more time with my wife and children than a majority of other men. Others wish they can have a life like mine.

But they seldom wants to do the things I do to get this life I have.

Looking at my business pot at the moment, I'm glad that it's cooking some significant projects now. It has been months of going into the market, shopping for resources, and putting recipes together.

Today's business had not been instant. As it was never before. As usual. The recipe is to prepare for it in advance, cook it and then eat it.

GTWay35 - A Vehicle To Becoming An Internet Business Mogul

Last night an e-mail got me an adrenalin rush. The e-mail was from Steven Jenkins, an editor at the Web Designer Magazine (www.webdesignermag.co.uk), and he told me in the e-mail that the magazine would like to feature Designel Media in Web Designer Magazine Issue 156, which will be out on sale 09 April 2009.

Out of the hundreds of thousands sites submitted to the magazine, Designel Media's caught the international publisher's eyes.

More importantly for us all, a Malaysian design firm, a team from Perak, Pahang and Terengganu, has met the international standards.

I assure you, this accomplishment is not by Designel Media alone. Without the projects forwarded by Eilham members, we would not have anything to work with, and therefore no visuals to showcase in our galleries.

Internet Entrepreneur Checklist

I got up early in the morning to buy some breakfast for my visiting parents - my wife was ill and she couldn't get up to serve breakfast for us. I noticed that my brother, Ad, was missing, but I knew exactly where to find him.

And so I drove over to Al-Sameer Maju, the Mamak restaurant I frequent, and as I had expected, Ad was there having a morning bowl of Maggi.

You see, Ad is a novelist. His books, Fantasia Romantika (Alaf21) and Kau Ilhamku (Prima Publishings) sold quite well on the market. But, like many of us, he is also an adamant believer of creating multiple side-incomes for emergency purposes. Emergencies such as our current global economic crisis.

Like myself, Ad prefers the Internet as his side-income battlegrounds. In fact, Ad started his online business even before I seriously considered it at his www.adrs.com.my.

He told me this morning, "Not bad. I spent RM96 on Google Adwords, and got back RM500+ within a week".

Certainly not bad. I think many of us spend about RM100 a week on petrol to earn RM500 a week's worth of salary.

And so we went on sharing experiences with each other, almost forgetting our parents were waiting for their breakfast.

And one of the things we talked about was about a checklist on how to become an Internet Entrepreneur:

Type at least 35 words per minute
Have a computer with Internet access
Use a search engine such as Google or Yahoo
Set up several e-mail accounts (Gmail, Yahoo, Hot Mail)
Sign up and learn to use social networking sites (Facebook, My Space, You Tube, Twitter)
Use office suite software such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel, or the Open Office equivalents
Learn to use an HTML editor, such as, Dreamweaver
Learn some basic HTML Set up accounts with PayPal, Click Bank, and Netbuilder's NBePay
Have at least one domain name
Have a Web host account
Use an FTP program (I like CuteFTP) and start putting content on the Internet under your domain name
Get good images and turn them into a banner for advertising purposes (you can get them at XBanners.my);
Promote your website in high trafficked sites such Harakah Daily and Mudah2u; and
Remind yourself everyday that you need to spend money to make money.

We went back home, with me carrying a purchase of Roti Canai, Capati and Nasi Lemak for my parents. We're going for a kenduri in Kota Damansara after this - a cousin of mine, whom I have not met for almost 20 years, is getting married today.

Hmm, I wonder who else I'll meet there? Just my cousins? Or, future business partners?

Our discussion had somewhat renewed my vigor towards helping others reach their better potential. It is not everyday that I meet someone who shares our passion and vision, but we very well know that if we look hard enough, we will find a compatible soul.

I would very much like to thank the person who introduced to you the Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme - En Hambami. And I would very much like to thank Ms Dyana, who had flown to the north to meet En Hambami and explained to him about Eilham. Without the effort from the two Eilham members, you and I might have been faceless names on the vast Internet. Without the networking platform that is Eilham and your NEDC, we would not have met.

I would like to express to you my utmost approval of your own personal effort in helping others build their lives through entrepreneurship - your website http://www.nedc.com.my/ is testament to the many that you have helped (I am deeply moved with your "Before" and "After" depictions - hopefully you can share with us that URL as I seem to have misplaced it somewhere on my hard disk). Get A Better You

Happy New Year 2009.

Or, rather, I urge you to proactively make 2009 a Happy Year. Don't let your life be conditioned by others - take charge! Do something!

The economy is bad for the world, but will you let your economy go bad too? Can you afford to let your economy go down? Can you afford to wait for the economy to pick up sometime in 2010 (that's when the experts speculate the world economy will start to heal)?

Can you afford not to make the extra money?

If you can't afford to wait for the economy or, simply can't wait, then do something about yourself! Don't just sit and walk around doing the things you do everyday! If you need different results coming your way, you need to do different things! Simple logic.

But really, how?

Well, normally I would urge you to do some part time job or business to generate another stream of income. Though that recommendation is still solid and true, I would like to suggest that you upgrade yourself!

Get a better position in your office.

Get a better job in another office.

Get a better resume. And grow that resume. Impress the employers. Impress the people you meet. Grow yourself.

Reflections: The Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme

In a whiff, 2008 will leave us to make way for 2009. As December comes nigh, I cannot help but think about my 12 months journey to this day.

Back in January 2008, the Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme wasn't even launched yet. My team and I were still busy fine tuning the programme, side-stepping the intended January 2008 launch date. Oh... we were so busy then that I had to skip many World of Warcraft sessions just so that I can focus on developing the Eilham programme.

And, finally, in March 2008, the Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme was previewed to the public.

Since then, I had to skip a lot more World of Warcraft sessions.

The Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme was designed to support entrepreneurs to build their business, mostly by means of IT and Multimedia. The Eilham programme also promotes the idea of people helping other people towards an end, with the intention of creating a community of values-driven entrepreneurs. We did not specify a business field or industry, to make the programme more applicable to a wider range of audience. In fact, we open the eligibility to the Eilham programme to as young as 13 year olds - designing a successful life shouldn't be restricted to adults only.

The Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme grew itself as we had designed it.

However, though we planned it, the results are an adventure itself!

In general, the Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme has made small business owners enjoy quality promotional materials such as business cards, brochures, letterheads, menus, etc. (hey! you should really order some for yourself to get what I mean - for example, you will only experience the full quality of our business cards when you hold them in your hands!)

On the individual level, we have had the pleasure to help some people who took the extra mile to improve their business and their lives.

One example is our friend Mr Darren Daniel Ong Abdullah - CEO of Penzpages Sdn Bhd, founder of Bulletpages.com. Since Darren had registered into the Eilham programme, we worked as a team to help him obtain the Cradle fund of RM130,000.00! On top of that, the Eilham programme had enabled him to save more than RM60,000.00 from his Cradle budget through our consultation in his Bulletpages IT and multimedia requirements.

Another example is Pn Vanida Krishna and her husband Mr Azman Shah, who had earned RM20,000.00 in sales commission for ONE e-learning job she successfully saw through. And recently, Azman managed to retire from his employment to focus on expanding his own business with the support of the Eilham programme.

Yet another example - a father and son team, Mr Ridzuan Repin and Mr Repin Ibrahim, who brought in e-learning projects from the USA, through their use of the Eilham Demo CD and Brochure 08. They have earned a total sales commission of more than USD2,000 to date.

Guess what - they only paid RM300.00 like the rest of us to join the Eilham programme.

Aah, 2009 is just around the corner. We are excited to help more people through the Eilham Technopreneurs Development Programme.

Define What Success Means To You

Knowing what you want is very important in getting what you want, don't you think? I mean, if you don't know what you are looking for, how will you find it?

For example, if I ask you to go out and get me a pack of Nasi Lemak, you will have no problem in getting it for me because you know exactly what it looks like, and where it can be found.

But if I ask you to go out and get me a bpxopfo sbr djnfs, what will you do? Ignore me, most probably. The reason - you have no idea what I want you to get me!

If you want success, more or less the same principles apply - you have to know what success means to you.

Does Success mean you can stay at home all you want with your husband, wife, children or parents?

Does Success mean you have all the money to care for your parents?

Does Success mean you can own a big nice home for you and your family?

Does Success mean you can own an expensive sports car without having to care about the monthly instalments?

Does Success mean you don't need to work but still have money coming in for you?

Only when you have defined what your idea of Success is can you start thinking about how you are going to achieve it.

So, why don't you take an hour today to define your Success. It can come true, you know.

Success Is Being Consistent

I hung out with an Eilham member yesterday, Yazid, and he happens to be quite successful even before he joined the programme. While we were having our lunch, I had asked what he did to live his easygoing life today.

Amazingly, he did the same simple stuffs we have heard so much about:

1. He talked to a lot of people;

2. He wrote a lot of e-mails to a lot of people;

3. He SMSed to a lot of people;

4. He set up websites to promote his business to a lot of people; and

5. He advertised in newspaper to catch the attention of a lot of people.

But the key difference between him and us - he did all those things EVERYDAY.

He also advised - you don't need to be complicated or smart to earn a magnificent life. He's a simple guy, just like the rest of us.

I asked if if he ever found it tiring.

He told me that if he were to work in a job, he would have to do the same things. Only, if he did all those things for his employer, he would still be earning less than RM5,000 a months, instead of his current more than RM20,000 a month.

Besides, he added, the 5 things above do not take so much time, if you really get down to it. Those things, which he still does now out of habit, only takes him about 2 to 3 hours a day - a whopping discount from the conventional 8 hours daily of office life.

DiJari Seminar in Kota Bharu, Kelantan

I was recently invited by the Kelantan State Government to talk on how the Internet can enhance local businesses, especially in Kelantan. The talk was addressed to local Kelantanese businessmen and women, and is supported by YB En Abdul Fatah Mahmood, Kelantan Exco for Human Development, Sports, & NGO.

The talk was organized by Wawasan Paradigma Sdn Bhd and TM Ads Solution Enterprise, under the program called DiJari:

I did not go into advanced technical details, but I shared with the participants my thoughts:

1. The Internet as a tool

The Internet can greatly help us to manage our time - for example, we used to go to banks to pay our bills, and this monthly activity can eat up a considerable amount of our time and money(parking, queues, summons, petrol, etc.), over and over again every month. With the existence of online banking (Maybank2U, AMBank Online, etc.), we need to only spend a few minutes in front of our computer to settle our bills and payments. So, even if you say that its difficult to use the Internet, why don't you go over the difficulties of learning ONCE, and then have an easier life after that?

Much like doing business... do the hard work once, even if the work required is harder than the work you have in your employment, and then reap the rewards over and over again.

2. The Internet as a global gateway

The Internet can also open up new business channels for your products and services. If you restrict yourself to doing business in the physical world, then your customers will be restricted to those who can reach your shop. By having an online presence (such as a website, or an online advertisement subscribtion), you can reach more people - imagine... there are 540,000,000 people in Asia... and if you can capture 0.2% of this market, you can have 1,080,000 people who would know about your products and services. And if your product is RM10.00 each, 10% of the 1,080,000 people will generate you a sales revenue of more than RM1 million!!!!

So, if you haven't done so already, learn how to exploit the Internet to begin building a solid business!

Dig The Well Before You Need The Water

I just had a chat with an old time friend, who is, at the moment, in a financial mess. The bank had issued him a warning letter; his credit cards are all screaming at him; and worst - he's about to have a second child.

He has been jobless for about 6 months, and things are not looking any better.

I keep reminding myself though, that the same thing can happen to me.

The same thing can happen to anybody. That includes you, too.

I'm not here to scare you, but don't you think we are all susceptible to financial crisis?

So, that's why I keep reminding myself, and others too - Dig the well before you need the water.

Money is not hard to get - it's just hard when we are cornered by the pressure of time.

So, here again - Dig the well before you need the water.

There are a lot of things that we can do now to help us face a future crisis. And we don't necessarily need huge sums of money to start building a huge stream of income that will benefit us in the future.

MSC Malaysia’s Technopreneur Pre-Seed Fund Programme is initiated in RMK9 to catalyze the creation of local Technopreneurs and K-SMEs in ICT towards growing the local ICT Industry. This programme addresses the funding gap at pre-seed stage and is expected to boost the development of commercially viable ICT projects and kick off a chain reaction in the creation of new local K-SMEs in ICT.

The targeted beneficiaries are local Technopreneurs. Only individuals are eligible to apply, not existing companies. Double Jobs and Part Time Income

I read in the Star today that it is common for people to have double jobs today - a second part-time income is necessary to cope with the rising cost of living.

I read about a Steve running a skating school by day, amd a home based laundry service by night.

I read about a Betty who is a sales executive, and earns at night as a waitress at night.

I read about a Mohd Hazri, an account manager, who manages an artist for that much needed second stream of income.

I red about a Personal Assistant named Mukhshirin who double deals her life as a voice over talent.

I read about a tax consultant named Stanley who adopts the clown to entertain children while making some side money.

And some people, even in this economic crisis, are living on what they used to do part-time, because that part-time income had grown to be bigger than their day job's salary.

And when people like us can work part time but earn more than what most people earn, we have most of our day off.

With which we look through the newspapers to see if there's any good movie we can watch.

With which we ask our children and spouse if they feel like shopping anywhere.

With which we have nothing better to do but to write blogs.

I'm not about to brag about my life here.

I'm just saying that you can start out earning that second income you need, but to plan that part time income to be more than what you are earning from your employment, you need to know how.

Have you ever wondered why McDonald is still advertising its fastfood outlet? Come on - who doesn't know McDonald? Even my my 3 years old son Akalil knows that McDonald is where he can get fries (and of course, the playground).

Ask around, "Do you know what McDonald sells?", and you might get a "Helloooo.... where have you been all this while? Pluto?".

Ask the whole world - everyone who is living in a moderate civilization will know the yellow "M" sign.

So why does McDonald still advertise? Why is McDonald spending millions of $$$ to tell people about its business?

Because McDonald understands the necessity of constantly promoting itself to retain its share of the fastfood market, that's why. Otherwise, McDonald will lose out to its competitors like Burger King, KFC, etc.

The big players are promoting their business even though many people knows about its existence.

Small business owners like us starts a company, and then sy away from advertising. No wonder we don't sell like the big guys - NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW WHAT WE ARE SELLING!

He gave that comment to Oprah Winfrey, when asked about the murderers of his sister - refusing to transfer more power to the people who were responsible for Rachel's death.

Have you ever thought of what you give your attention to?

Are you giving attention to your sick child, or should you focus on getting the best care for him or her?

I had a drastic Google Adsense commission hike up since I joined Qassia (it's free)! It's really simple:

1. Join Qassia, and register your Google Adsense account from your Qassia control panel.

2. Write "Intel"s, which refers to articles that you can write (anything), and these articles will be screened by other Qassia members.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz

One of the best book that I've read was "The Magic of Thinking Big" by Dr David Schwartz. It is full of common sense, simple logic, and a wealth of advise on why and how you should change your thinking - to think big always, and bigger whenever you can.

The book was recommended to me by some international speakers I listen to - Jim Dornan, Sean Henderson, Mitch Salla, and many more. These people are well known for thinking bigger than life, and yet they still read "The Magic of Thinking Big" over and over,year after year.

But here's my personal experience:

I gave the book to my brother some 3 years back. FYI, he is not at all like me - full of anger, he had spent most of his twenties in his dark room back in my parents' home in Ipoh, unemployed, not even doing odd jobs.

My mom asked me if I could tune him up a bit.

Instead of me giving him my piece of mind, I gave my brother "The Magic of Thinking Big".

After reading the book, he began to write his own.

Long story short, my brother wrote a novel that sold 30,000 copies within three months ("Fantasia Romantika" by Rio Hermawan, published by Alaf21). I asked him what made him a novelist.

He replied, "Maybe it's the book you gave me. Or maybe it's you. Or maybe both. Or maybe neither."

And this year he published another novel, "Kau Ilhamku", published by Buku Prima, under his own name Ahmad Fuad.

If you are going to read only one book this year, let it be "The Magic of Thinking Big".

What's Your Raise Gonna Be Like Next Year?

You might relate to this:

You work your brains out for your employer because you are a good employee. You know you have to work to keep your job, but if you can put that extra effort, you might get "Excellent" or "Outstanding" for your appraisal this year.

And if you could perform as such, you'd get an increment in salary of about 15% to 20%. And, oh yeah, if you perform REALLY well (like putting in more hours than your boss ask you to), you can hope for a promotion, which normally comes with an increment.

Hooray for you. If.

Here's another If:

You can promote your Eilham Technopreneur Development Programme to about 1 person a day. That'd be spending about 2 hours a day. And if you talk to about 10 people a month, 1 of them will agree to join you.

If you introduce 1 person a month after you qualify for the YBIM fund (hey... others qualify within days from the day they get their first mentoring session), and you do that consistently every month, plus you teach your mentee to do the same, did you know that you would have more than 4,000 mentees in your Eilham network in month 12?

You'd get RM2.50 per mentee who signs up. That means, if you'd only introduce 1 person a month into the programme, you'd have RM2.50 x 4,000 mentees in month 12: that's a whopping RM20,000 for you.

This means you can have an extra RM1,666 per month next year (RM20,000 / 12 months). If your salary now is RM2,500 per month, you'd be enjoying RM4,166 next year!

All the extra effort required is 1 person a month for the next 12 months to get a RM1,666 raise.

As the Eilham Mentoring System has a compounding effect, doing 2 a month does not equate to merely double the money - you could be earning 3 times more if you do 2 a month (you do your own maths to find out exactly how much).

Let's say after your first 12 months into the Eilham programme you managed to get the RM1,666 income raise for doing 1 a month, you decide to go for 2 people a month in your 2nd year. At the end of the second year, you can accumulate more than RM60,000 to have an extra income of RM5,000 a month. And in your 3rd year, you are already skilled with people, you'd be introducing 3 people a month, making more than RM600,000 in mentoring incentive, plus an additional RM600K++ from YBIM (because definitely you'd qualify) - That amounts to RM1.2 million!

That's RM100,000 a month!

In three years time, your salary from your employment can be RM4,320 (assuming you start with RM2,500 per month, and gets an "Outstanding" increment of 20% per year). But add with the RM100,000 extra part-time income from Eilham mentoring activities (part time coz you only need about 1 hour a day to promote the programme), you will be earning RM104,320 per month!!!

It's all in the Mathematics. You decide how much you want to earn.

Do The MLM Thing!

I've been approached by numerous MLM members - most of them ask me to join them. Normal. However, I declined. I can't be joining all MLM under the sun.

But know this - this is my stand - as long as the MLM is legal, I urge you to consider joining one.

Why?

Because most MLM has a system of "downlines" - people working in a network to build a common business. This means, if you have an MLM business, and you build it correctly, you will find that your business can eventually run without you, but you can still enjoy the money it can generate for you. Build it big, and you will enjoy big time. Build it small, you can still enjoy it big time.

I too am a network marketer myself, and I am not ashamed of it. Because I have begun to experience the benefits of a network marketing business. I had build my Amway business aggressively since I joined last August, but due to stress and other occupational hazards, I was sick and bedridden for the past 2 months. I couldn't do anything - not my day job, not my Amway.

Here's what I found out:

1. My business (day job) almost went to a standstill because I could not attend to it. Therefore, my income stops.

2. My Amway business continued to give me a steady stream of about RM1,000 even though I did not do any sponsoring myself.

This means that I am earning active income from my business, while my Amway business is pouring in passive income. Though RM1,000 may be small, I have no doubt it will grow into the tens of thousands when all this people who are my downline, who I barely know, build the business from underneath me.

And thank God I build it when I didn't need it before. My son is sick, and I'm sending him again to the hospital tommorow. Everytime he's sick (pneumonia), my wife and I would be spending RM2,000++ for the specialist treatment.

I wouldn't be able to afford the best for my loved ones if I didn't build my streams of income before, because these streams will need to take time before I could enjoy any money from it.

I have sidestepped one mine in life's field. I urge you to take that step.

Iron Man

Recently, I took my whole family out to the new Alamanda GSC cinema complex and watched Iron Man. Among Marvel's superheroes, I wasn't that familiar with Iron Man (more of a Spidey and Ghost Rider fan myself).

But...weheyyyy!!! I was stunned! Iron Man is COOOL! I highly recommend the movie to anyone (since my wife liked it, that means everyone can like it!).

However, more importantly... the movie portrayed the evolution of an idea. First, Tony Stark (a.k.a Iron Man), a multi billionaire who makes his fortune by selling hi-tech weapons was wounded by one of his own bomb in the Middle-East dessert, sent by a terrorist group. He was then imprisoned in a cave by the terrorists, dying, but a fellow prisoner saved him by attaching an electromagnet powered by a car battery to Stark's chest - the electromagnet kept the viral shrapnel inside Stark's chest to go to his heart. Then, from having to lug around the heavy battery wherever he goes, stark modified the crude device into a small dynamo, which was easier for him to carry around. From there, Stark got an idea to built an armor that was powered by the dynamo. And from the armor... you guessed it ... the super cool Iron Man!

Now... relate this to your life. What you are building now may look ugly - your business for example. However, as you keep working on it, it will evolve and grow little by little. And, before you know it, your ugly business becomes a huge income stream for you.

The key: keep working on it, little by little, baby steps. And one day... you'll be Iron Man.

Make Money: Mentoring Incentives

Yayasan Bina Insan Malaysia (YBIM) wants to target 1% of the Malaysian population within the next 12 months to create IT and Multimedia awareness and consequently accelerate the growth of the industry.

In order to do so, YBIM initiates a "Network Mentoring" to meet the above objective - YBIM outsources back the mentoring activities to the Eilham Technopreneurs - YOU!

To be fair, each successful mentoring should result in the mentee registering for ETDP, and the mentor will recieve a mentoring incentive of RM2.50 for it.

Although as an Eilham Technopreneur you only focus to mentor 3 people at a time directly, YBIM will pay out incentives up to 11 levels of successful mentoring, which could amount to more than RM500,000 in mentoring incentives for you (RM2.50 x 200,000 mentees). In addition, in your 12th month, YBIM will total your mentoring incentives, and award you a matching amount as your Eilham Technopreneurs Fund!

This means, if your mentoring incentive totals RM500,000 in the 11 months you were active in the programme, you will get a new matching RM500,000 from YBIM. Your total = RM1,000,000!

And you don't have to pay back to YBIM - It's yours to keep.
